Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum showcases the permanent exhibitions on both historic and contemporary artworks such as sculptures, painting and bird-research documents. It also holds annual exhibitions like ‘Birds in Air’ exhibition in the months of September and October.
Marathon County Historical Museum is situated inside an antique house and gives visitors a taste of the bygone era. The gardens on the front display a vibrant collection of wildflowers and herbs.
The Wausau Depot was constructed for advertising purposes by Wausau Insurance Company and is open to public viewing.
Rib Mountain State Park covers over 860 acres of land and has a properly maintained network of nature trails and hiking spots. Various flowers grow in a natural environment throughout the park.
A sixty foot observation tower provides breathtaking views of Wausau and its surroundings. The park also has picnic areas, scenic overlooks and an interpretive center. During the summer and winter season the park hosts concerts and events at its amphitheater.
Granite Peak Ski Area located at the north end of the park provides skiing facilities.
