Tourist Guide Casper
Casper is located in the central part of the state of Wyoming in the USA. This city with a population of approximately 49,000 inhabitants is the only city in Natrona County and is the chief administrative centre of the county.
Summers in Casper are very hot; in July, the temperatures consistently reach as high as 40°C. January is the coldest month with the average minimum temperature at –11°C. December and January get the maximum snowfall.
The city is located along a river and is flanked by Casper Mountain on one side. Its location has made it a key commercial and financial centre in the region. With the discovery of coal and uranium in the region, Casper has also emerged as a key player in the energy sector.
Casper came into the limelight when it was established as a stopping point for the railroad. But it was the discovery of oil here that really propelled its development. By the 1980s three refineries had opened up.
