Douglas is located in the eastern part of the state of Wyoming in the USA. This town with a population of approximately 5,200 inhabitants is the main administrative centre of its county.

Summers in Douglas are pleasant with the average temperature being 27°C; July is the warmest month. During winter, the average minimum temperature is –11°C. Maximum snowfall occurs in the month of March.

In its early days, the town served as a shipping point for traders of sheep and cattle. The discovery of coal mines and oil in the neighbourhood propelled the town’s fortunes.

Douglas is located along the North Platte River, and there are some popular natural parks in the area. The town’s accessibility to these parks attracts nature lovers and adventure tourists in large numbers. It also featured in Norman Crampton’s book ‘The 100 Best Small Towns in America’.
