The town of Dubois is situated in Wyoming, USA, covering an area of 6.8 sq km. Nestled in a valley between the Absaroka and Wind River mountain ranges, it lies among rocky cliffs and lush greenery.
The town, with a population of around 1,000, was originally known as ‘Never Sweat’ due to its warm and dry winds, but the postal service renamed it after Senator Dubois.
Dubois is known for its mild winter, unlike the rest of the state which experiences harsh winter conditions. Summers are warm and dry.
The rustic trailheads and the several log houses, salons and antique shops give a feel of Wyoming’s Old West flavour. The town, rich in ranching and tie hack history, is visited for its recreational avenues. Also, the National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center provides a great venue to view the magnificent creatures.
