The city of Greybull is located in the Big Horn County, Wyoming, United States. The town covers an area of 1.8 square miles. The Greybull Rivers from which the name of the city is derived is located near the city and was names after an albino buffalo bull. The place is located at an altitude of 3,789 feet. The city is nestled in the valley which is situated at the convergence point of the Greybull River and Bighorn River. The town was founded in 1906 when the railroad first arrived at this place.
The total population of the place in 2003 was 1,749. 26% of the total residents living in Greybull belong to German Ancestry while 11% have their roots to Irish ancestry. The total; per capita income of the city is $15,383. Oil fields which were discovered here in 1915 led to the development of the city. The major employment in the area is generated by mining and processing of bentonite and agriculture.
