Laramie is located in the southern part of the state of Wyoming in the USA. This town with a population of approximately 27,000 inhabitants, along the river which goes by the same name, is the county seat.
Originally, Laramie was just a temporary settlement of a handful of tents along the transcontinental railroad. But with the success of the railroad, soon permanent structures came up.
Laramie is situated 2,000 metres above sea level on a largely flat plain area. It is flanked by lofty mountain ranges on the east and the west. Its location has made it popular with visitors looking for holidays with outdoor activities.
Owing to its altitude, the region enjoys short but pleasant summers. The average maximum temperature is 26°C. Winters are long and severe. There is some amount of snowfall in every month of the year.
