Tourist Guide Rock Springs
Rock Springs is located in the southern part of the state of Wyoming in the USA. This town with a population of approximately 18,700 inhabitants is the largest town in Sweetwater County.
Originally, Rock Springs was a coal mining town; the remains of those times are still visible in and around the town. It is known for a riot which broke out between the white miners and their Chinese colleagues. People were killed, several injured and many more had to leave the town.
Today, the town’s accessibility to some natural wonders in the area like the Killpecker Sand dunes and the Red Desert attracts many visitors in pursuit of some adventure and outdoor activities.
Summers in Rock Springs are pleasant with the average temperature at 21°C. January is the coldest month with the average minimum temperature at –15°C. Maximum snowfall is in March.
