Saratoga is located in the southern part of the state of Wyoming in the USA. This town with a population of approximately 1,700 inhabitants stands along the North Platte River.
The town is nestled in the river valley and is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Several hot springs can be found here. The scenic settings and the resorts that have come up around these geysers attract visitors in large numbers.
The ‘healing properties’ of Saratoga were popularised by the Indians. But, after white settlers descended on this region, the Indians abandoned the place. By the end of the nineteenth century Saratoga had developed into a spa for miners from neighbouring towns.
Summers in Saratoga are pleasant; July is the warmest month with the average temperature at 21°C. The temperature tends to stay below freezing point for most of the winter. Maximum snowfall is in March.
