Sundance is located in Crook County, Wyoming, United States. The town derives its name from the Sun Dance festival which is common among the North American Indian Nations. The city lies on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountain Range, approximately in the center of the Wyoming Black hill mountain. The terrain has mainly tall grass of Prairie and the nearby mountains are covered with Ponderosa pine. The city of Sundance is located at an elevation of 4750 feet. The maximum elevation of 6000 feet is located at a short distance from the city.
