Wapiti is an unincorporated community situated in Park County in Wyoming. This place is located along the Shoshone River which is in Shoshone National Forest, between the east side of Yellowstone National Park and Cody. Wapiti is named after the Cree Indian word for elk. Even though it is unincorporated, it has a post office.
