The California National Historic Trail passes through Colorado, California, Kansas, Missouri, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Nevada and Oregon. It was an important emigration route between Missouri and California in the nineteenth century for gold-seekers and others alike. The trail was given the status of a national historic trail on 3 August 1992.
This long trail has a diverse landscape that includes lush green forests, rivers, mountains etc. The trail has several historic sites, auto-tour routes, recreational facilities and remnants of the various stories that took place along the route.
