| Attractions and things to do |
The Canaveral National Seashore was established on 3 January 1975. The early inhabitants of this region were the Timucuan and the Ais Indians. The Canaveral National Seashore has picturesque landscapes, beaches, dunes, lagoons and greenery to make any holiday a memorable one.
The John F. Kennedy Space Centre is a must-visit. There is also a wildlife sanctuary beside the space centre which is worth visiting. Here one can find a variety of plants and animals. The Mosquito Lagoon is also an important attraction and a great spot for canoeing. Other attractions worth visiting are the Playlinda Beach and the Merrit Island National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge is at some distance from the Canaveral National Seashore, but it is a must-see destination. |
