Located in heart of this Australian city, ‘this museum houses Somerville Collection; that has gained reputation on the international level. It lies in building of Public School that was constructed in the year 1876. This structure underwent massive refurbishment prior to being fitted out. As such, it contains astonishingly beautiful exhibitions.
Around 2000 mineral and fossil specimen are on display in 2 basic exhibitions- Minerals Gallery and MasterFoods Fossil Gallery.
Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum has also made arrangements for temporary exhibitions. These exhibitions usually deal with topics such as dinosaurs, science products, and earth history.
Timings
This museum remains open between 1000 and 1600 from Mondays to Saturdays; and between 1000 and 1400 on Sundays.
