Goulburn lies at an approximate distance of 190 Km on the south-western side of Sydney along Hume Highway. Moreover, it’s at an elevation of 690 meters above sea level.

The name ‘Goulburn’ has been given due to ‘Henry Goulburn’, by James Meehan. The former one was Under-Secretary for Colonies and War. This name had been ratified by Lachlan Macquarie, Governor. Goulburn’s Aboriginal name is ‘Burbong’; which is a Wiradjuri/Murring word symbolizing an exclusive indigenous cultural region.

Goulburn is said to have variable climate. However, usual climate is dry with temperatures averaging between 11.4 degree C in the month of July to 27.6 degree C in the month of January.
