Total area of Nightcap National Park is 8080 hectares. It was listed in ‘World heritage Sites’ in the year 1989.
This park goes on to feature a lot of gullies, ridges, and peaks on Mount Warning’ caldera’s southern edge. In certain places, range rises to around 900 meters. Moreover, it’s amongst the wettest places of the state.
Nightcap National park contains 3 main sections: One can access the section of Mount Nardi; inclusive of ‘Pholis Walk’ to ‘Pholis Gap’, and Turntable falls through a sealed road which goes from Nimbin.
This park comprises of ‘Old Googarna Road’ past ‘Mount Neville’; along with ‘Historic Nightcap Track’ to ‘Mullumbinmby’. From Dunoon, access through road vehicle has been provided along ‘Terania Creek road’ to Protester falls and Terania Creek Basin.
Protester Falls had been site of a big conservation battle of late 70s.
