Nowra can be described as a city located in ‘South Coast’ area of ‘New South Wales’, Australia.
Lying approximately at the distance of 170 Km on the southern side of Sydney (state capital), total population of Nowra combined with Bomaderry, i.e. a twin town is 27478. This place is also commercial center and seat of ‘City of Shoalhaven’. These two cities are usually referred in combination, i.e. Nowra-Bomaderry; reason being ‘twin-cities’.
Nowra-Bomaderry can boast of pristine ‘Shoalhaven River’; that hosted Australian National wakeboarding championships before. This river goes on to divide Nowra with respect to Bomaderry as well as North Nowra. Moreover, it has been bridged by Nowra Bridge which is of historic importance. It should be noted that Shoalhaven river falls under the category of ‘salt-water rivers’; in spite of the fact that it itself never flows in to the sea. The meeting with sea takes place via canal which goes on to join Crookhaven and Shoalhaven rivers. This canal had been dug by convicts.
