Orange is a provincial city in New South Wales in Australia. It is situated on the Mitchell Highway approximately 260 kilometers which is 160 miles to the west of Sydney. This city is at an altitude of 862 meters, which comes to 2,828 feet.
The growth of this city was well suited for agriculture. In 1860 it was proclaimed a municipality. Orange was situated on Blackman’s Swamp Creek and was first established as a village in 1846 and after hundred years in 1946, this was proclaimed a city. This city is well known for fruit growing district and produces some of the juicy apples, pears, stone fruits like apricots, peaches, plums and cherries. There are also a large number of vineyards in Orange city.
At present there are 31,544 population of people in the city and this city is a major provincial center. The annual precipitation of rainfall is 884.5 millimeters. There have been lots of changes towards the 20th century with increase in the infrastructure for catering to the expanding population.
