Tourist guide Parkes

The Parkes city comes under the state of New South Wales in Australia. When the last census was measured in the year 2006 the population of the city of Parkes was around 11,700. The famous Parkes Elvis Festival is organized here and is celebrated to mark the birthday of Elvis Presley. This city was founded in 1853 and was initially known for kurrajongs trees. The city also has many buildings which are standing there since the ancient times. The city is named after Sir Henry Parkes also called as the 'Father of Federation'. The entire architecture of the city is an example of the ancient culture because till date the city has not changed much and has stuck with its old culture. The area of the city is about 5.2 square miles out of which no part of area is covered by water. It is a complete land area. The climate in the city is generally dry but times can occur when the temperature soars to 45 degrees.
