Kingsford Smith International Airport is situated in the Sydney suburb of Mascot. It is amongst the oldest continually operated airports in the world, and also the busiest one in Australia. It is managed by SACL and serves as a primary hub for Qantas.
The airport has three runways and is split into 3 main terminals. T1 is an international terminal; T2 is Ansett’s Domestic Terminal while T3 is Qantas’s Domestic Terminal, which is separated from the other two terminals.
The airport has a curfew policy in motion which prevents take-off or landing of airplanes from 11PM to 6AM. Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, United Airlines, British Airways, US Airways and Thai Airways are some of the prominent international airlines operating from here.
Major names in domestic airlines include Australian Air Express, Jetster and Virgin Blue. Cargo airlines are also serviced at the airport.
Several restaurants, snack bars and shopping stores are locates throughout both the terminals. The airport also has a children’s playground and duty-free shops.
