Jellyfish stings are a real danger on the beaches in Sydney. The sting is not fatal but it hurts a lot.
They look like blue bottles but they are not glass bottles, and when it gets windy the chances of the jellyfish coming to shore increases and warnings are put up on beaches.
During such a time it is recommended not to go near the shore.
Do not touch a jellyfish that appears to be dead as it can still sting you. It is not advisable to walk across any park of Sydney at night as it is not safe and robbery and rape are often reported.
Do not swim at dusk or at night. It is best to be watchful while swimming and not to swim alone far away from the shore. Sunscreen should be applied regularly and in a good quantity as the chances of sunburn are high.
Lifeguards generally fly yellow and red flags showing which areas are safe to swim and which areas are dangerous.
Follow these instructions scrupulously to ensure you stay safe.
