The city is extremely tourist friendly as you can explore it without any hindrance. The public restrooms are clean and well maintained, especially in the tourist centres throughout the city.
Public telephones are to be found almost everywhere. You can make a local as well as international call from these phones.
Many shops and stores will not charge tax if you show that you are not a citizen, and in cases where they do charge tax, you can save the receipts and claim the tax on your exit from Australia at any airport.

The Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Opera House and the Old Town Sydney are a must visit and should not be missed in any case.
