Wollongong Botanic Garden

This garden had been opened in the year 1970 in the month of September. An interesting feature of Wollongong garden is that it’s co-located with ‘Gleniffer Brae House’ of historic importance; which gets used for various functions and ‘Wollongong Conservatorium of Music’.

Wollongong garden goes on to feature loads of themed regions, inclusive of herb garden, rose garden, succulent plants, azalea bank,  woodland garden, and numerous rainforest regions which have been divided in to Exotic rainforest, Dry rainforest, subtropical rainforest, and Illawarra Rainforest. A creek goes on to run through this garden in to a tiny lake. It joins ‘Para Creek’; thereby having run in to ‘Puckeys Estate Reserve’.

Illawarra Light Railway Museum

This museum got established in the year 1972. The year 1979 witnessed its transformation in to ‘Limited by Guarantee Company’. ‘Light railway locomotives are being displayed over here.

Timings

This museum remains open only in summers; that too on every second Sunday from 1000 to 1630 hrs.
