Things to Do in Darwin, Northern Territory: attractions to See in Darwin

Darwin: Attractions and more...

Darwin hosts several open-air markets at Parap, Nightcliff and Mindil Beach, selling everything from local handicrafts to fresh produce. During the Tropical Summer, a large portion of the day is spent outside—whether dining, shopping or movie watching.

The city has a compact Central Business District—which can be explored on foot or by bicycle or tour bus—and a vibrant nightlife, with several pubs, nightclubs and restaurants that serve local favourites like mud crabs, barramundi, buffalo, kangaroo and crocodile.

Darwin’s coastal location also makes it a world-class fishing destination; its waters are home to barramundi and several other kinds of other tropical fish. The city is also host to several must-visit natural parks, such as the Botanic Gardens, East Point Reserve and Casuarina Coastal Reserve.
Darwinplays host to an eponymous festival in August each year at several venues around the city.
