Maryvale is now known as Titjikala (also identified as Tapatjatjaka). It is an aboriginal community located in the southern region of the Northern Territory in Australia. It is a small settlement area situated approximately 120 km south of Alice Springs at the edge of the Simpson Desert. It lies within the boundaries of Maryvale Station (a cattle station). The Hugh River flows towards southern direction in the town. According to the 2001 census, the population of this city was nearly 250 people. The common language spoken in Maryvale is Arrernte, Luritja and Yankunytjatjara. In the 1950’s the aboriginal people settled permanently in the area. The family members worked as stockmen, domestics and cameleers in the surrounding regions. The climate in Maryvale is usually hot or warm. The temperature varies between 19 degrees and 38 degrees approximately. The town is accessed through a sand routed road that meanders through a red sandbank.
