Palmerston can be described as one of the ‘satellite cities’ located in Darwin, i.e. the biggest and capital city of Northern Territory, Australia.

Palmerston lies adjoining Darwin Harbor. It makes up around 12% of population of Northern Territory; thereby having made it the 2nd biggest city in it. In all, there are ten suburbs in Palmerston. They lie in vicinity of Palmerston City Center. This city is usually residential with 2 ‘light industrial areas’ in its northern part.

Palmerston, like rest of ‘Top End’, goes on to have tropical climate; comprising of dry season and wet season. The ‘spectacular lightning’ on its part has attained special reputation. Dry season lasts between May and September. Temperature in cool months, i.e. June-July, ranges between 19 and 30 degree Celsius. Tropical cyclones are witnessed during the ‘wet season’. Most of the rainfall occurs from December to March.
