Tennant Creek can be referred to as a town situated in ‘Northern Territory’, Australia. It’s, in fact, the 5th biggest town all over ‘Northern Territory’.
Tennant Creek stands on ‘Stuart Highway’; just on southern side of intersection with ‘Barkly Highway’s western terminus. It lies at the distance of around 1000 Km on the southern side of Darwin, i.e. territory capital; and at the distance of around 500 Km on the northern side of ‘Alice Springs’. The name ‘Tennant Creek’ has been derived from an adjacent watercourse which has identical name. Around 50% of total population consists of ‘Aboriginal People’.
Maximum temperature on an average ranges between 24 degree Celsius and 38 degree Celsius. Majority of rain goes on to fall at the time of summer. However, occasional storms do occur during the year’s other times. Yearly average rainfall is around 426 millimeters.
The population as per 2001 census was 3185.
