When to visit
The best time to visit the Northern Territory in Australia is from the months of May through August. One need to avoid the summer season, December to February as this time of the year is unbearably hot. Northern Territory is a place brimming with life, sometime dangerous, but beautiful, offering a desert adventure for all with world heritage wonders, indigenous culture and wildlife. To visit the Ayers Rock and the Alice Springs, the month of April is excellent time to visit. Else, if visiting Kakadu, the wet season from October to April is fine. To avoid the crowds, one can visit this state from May to mid June, when the climate is not too hot, rain is unlikely and plenty of water is streaming down the waterfalls. Late dry season, which is in September/October, is a great time too, to see the wildlife.
