The Cairns International Airport is an Australian domestic and international airport in Cairns. This airport was sold by the government in December 2008 to a private consortium.
It is the sixth busiest airport in Australia.
This airport borders between the Mount Whitfield to the west and the bay to the east.
It is also a base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia and also for the search and rescue of helicopters for the state emergency services.
