Tourist Guide Great Keppel Island
Great Keppel Island is 15 kilometres away from the coastline of Yeppoon in Central Queensland, Australia. The island is a safe haven of flora and fauna and contains more than hundred varieties of birds like rainbow lorikeets, kookaburras and different types of seabirds. The Great Keppel Island is about 1500 hectares wide. This island is the biggest among the eighteen isles that belong to the Keppel group. In the early period the island was a home for sheep, but today it is a famous tourist destination. It is the numerous beaches and tropical climate of the island that attract the tourists from all parts of the world. There are several resorts that accommodate and serve the needs of the tourists. Great Keppel Island Resort is the most famous among those resorts. Tourists can accesses the Island via aircraft and ferries. This island is commonly known as Wappaburra, or a resting place. Tourists can see amazing beaches and fringing corals on the Great Keppel Island.
