Mackay Tourism is conducted by a specialized executive team comprising of a General Manager, Partnerships Manager, and a Financial Controller. Even though Mackay is close to the Eungella National Park, the Great Barrie Reef and the Whitsunday Islands, it has not capitalized on its location. In order to attract tourists to the city the Art space Mackay is also being used. The city has several camping grounds, walking tracks, fishing, four-wheel drives and other facilities that are attractive to the tourists who visit there. Besides this golf, bird watching, back packing is also catered to for the tourists.
A wide range of dinning experience in the Mackay region is available for visitors. One can enjoy a light snack at the Cosmopolitan café or at the local pubs. For entertainment, theatre facilities are also available in the city.
