Mount Isa can be described as a city located in Queensland’s north-western part, in Australia. This place got formed due to huge mineral deposits that had been found in this region.

‘Mount Isa Mines’ happens to be one amongst the most productive ‘single mines’ across the globe. It has been based on combined production with regards to zinc, copper, silver, and lead.

In spite of being located in arid region, Lake Moondarra, an artificial lake; which lies at the distance of 19 Km on the northern side of city makes ways for drinking, recreation, watersports, and bird watching. This city, i.e. ‘Mount Isa’ is often referred to as ‘The Isa’.

Mount Isa got formed after the year 1923 when ‘John Campbell Miles’ went on to discover an enriched silver-lead seam, at western edge with respect to Cloncurry field. Mining operations started after a year. In the year 1964, this town figured in national headlines following events which led to Mount Isa strike (in 1964).

The population has been estimated to be 25000.
