Nerang is located upon the Nerang River in the Australia’s Gold Coast.
Nerang proved to be successful in farming especially with crops sugar and maize. With this, timber cutting also started flourishing in this place. This was because of the abundance of red cedar trees. Earlier in this place there was only one mode of transportation that is river. After the farming it was the construction of Railway that came into the frontline and it completely changed the economic scenario of this place.
With the construction of the Pacific Highway on the railway reserve has further contributed to the development of this suburb region. Although some parts of this region are still dependent on the river.
The place got its name from the euphonious meaning little keeping in mind the small beautiful Nerang River that adds the scenic beauty of the place.
The climate of this place is quiet moderate and draws tourist throughout the year.
The population of this place comes to 16,066 according to 2000 census.
