Tourist Guide Noosa

Noosa, with a population of 35,000, is situated on the southern coast of Laguna Bay. It is 160 km north of Brisbane and includes the Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach and Tewantin.

The climate here is neither too hot nor too cold, and temperatures may range anywhere between 7°C to 28°C. Noosa has a subtropical climate and the summer months are marked by many lightning storms.

Some of the original tribes of Noosa were Undumbi, Dulingbara and Gabbi Gabbi. Caucasian settlers arrived only in the mid-nineteenth century. Noosa’s economy is primarily dependent on the tourism industry.

The town is known for its environmental friendly policies, and for this reason, it does not have many high rise buildings. In fact, 35% of its land is dedicated to national and conservation parks.
