Fleurieu Peninsula is a charming peninsula situated south of Adelaide in Australia. This place was named after Charles Pierre Claret de Fleurieu, the French explorer. The name was put forward by the French explorer Nicolas Baudin when he mapped the south shore of Australia in 1802. Fleurieu Peninsula is a place for tourism which includes the scenic Victor Harbour, Mount Compass, Yankalilla, the heritage town of Willunga, Goolwa, wine region of McLaren Vale and the Rapid Bay.
