Port Pirie is a sea port located on the east coast of Spencer Gulf (224 kilometers north of Adelaide). It is considered to be the sixth populous city in South Australia and is spotted to the west of Flinders Ranges. Port Pirie is located at (3301’9” South, 13801’1” East). It lies at an elevation of 4 meters above the sea level. The average temperature may vary from 16.4 degree Celsius to 31.8 degree Celsius. Port Pirie is considered as the world’s largest lead smelter, and is operated by Nyrstar. Port Pirie is also a major producer of gold, silver, copper and zinc.
