Tourist Guide Clair National Park
Clair National Park, which lies 165 Km northwest of Hobart, is situated in the Central Highlands region of Tasmania. The park comprises of numerous walking trails of which the most famous is the Overland Track. The most important features of this park are Lake St Clair and the Cradle Mountain, which is located towards the north. Clair National Park belongs to the Tasmanian Wilderness world Heritage Area. It can be accessed from the south by means of the Derwent Bridge, which is located on the Lyell Highway. Access from the north is normally from Sheffield, Wilmot. The Tasmanian Wildlife and Parks service brought in a booking service and fee during peak periods. The government of Tasmania has allowed progress in conservation areas and national parks. The Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park is an important location for the endemic species of Tasmania.
