Launceston: Attractions and more...
Launceston has much to offer to its visitors. It has several beautiful churches that are architectural masterpieces, the most popular one being the sixteenth-century Saint Mary Magdalene Church.
There are also a number of art galleries that exhibit as well as sell beautiful antiques. Lawrence House, a renowned museum with a rare collection of artefacts, and Queen Victoria Museum, considered to be one of the best regional galleries in Australia, are definitely worth a visit. Built in the nineteenth century, the Launceston Steam Railway station is another must-visit.
Tamar Valley, famous for its vineyards, is also a great place to explore with its beautiful landscapes. Rock climbers will love the Launceston Gorge. Like many other Australian cities, Launceston also has marvellous beaches which are extremely safe for water sports.
