Port Arthur is the small town and also previously a convict settlement on the Tasman Peninsula in the Tasmania region. The population of Port Arthur and the surrounding area is 499.The town is Australia’s most magnificent heritage regions and the open air museum in the town is Tasmania’s finest tourist attraction. The town is known among the people for its severe conditions, stark beauty and dark history.

The town is situated about 80 km in the south east of the Tasmania’s capital which Hobart on the Tasman Peninsula. The tourists can enjoy the panoramic drive from the Hobart city through the Tasman highway to Sorell and the Arthur highway to reach Port Arthur. The drive is for about 90 minutes and around 80 km. the town is well connected with ferry or seaplane.
