Wynyard is sheltered by fertile and flat-topped Table Cape. Table Cape was a volcano sometime ago. It is situated away from area's northern coast or border and provides a good view. To view the scenic attraction of Table Cape, visitors flock here. There is also an old lighthouse present at the Table Cape. It provides a good view of the town. On a clear day, views can extend to about Asbestos Range.
