Strand is one of the popular beaches with plenty of attractions and opportunities for adventure. Another place of interest is Magnetic Island, with about 54% of its area being dedicated to national parks.

Flinders Street houses some of the most beautiful colonial buildings. Townsville hosts a number of renowned cultural festivals including the annual Greek Festival and the Australian Italian Festival.
