Tourist Guide Ballarat
Ballarat is the biggest inland city in Victoria. It’s reputable for its heritage and history.
Ballarat lies at a distance of around 105 Km on the north-western side of Melbourne. It also lies at around 71 feet AHD. The area on the whole is around 740 sq. Km; with city having occupied the built-up area of around 75 sq. Km.
In the year 1851, gold was recovered. Furthermore, an influx of around 10000 miners; that too, in < a year went on to have it transformed from pastoral town in to the biggest settlement of Victoria. ‘Victorian Gold Rush’ took place for around 10 years, i.e. from 1850 to 1860 as gold could easily get extracted from surface. The importance of Ballarat, however, reduced after 1880s; thanks to overshadowing by Melbourne. In spite of all this, nothing could stop Ballarat from becoming a hot-favorite tourist destination.
