Tourist Guide Bendigo
Originally called ‘Bendigo’s Valley’, this city went on to grow fast out of ‘Victorian Gold Rush’; thereby having become established as one amongst the major provincial hubs and ‘minor financial centers’. The latter term has been assigned due to the fact that Bendigo contains Bendigo bank, i.e. Australia’s sole provincially HQ retail bank. BSX, i.e. Bendigo Stock Exchange is also located over here.
Benigo has also obtained reputation with regards to gold mining and Victorian architecture.
Prior to European settlement, this region had been occupied by clans of ‘Dja Dja’ Wrung people. The others used to hold these tribes in high esteem; thanks to ‘greenstone rock’ found in their area.
Lovers of art would simply rejoice after coming down to Bendigo; as it can boast of talented musicians.
