Cranbourne is located in a Melbourne of Victoria in Australia. It is one central business district in Melbourne.
Before the Europeans the area was inhabited by Boonwurung Aborigines. After that the Europeans started settling down from 1860 onwards. Due to the swamp land near this place it was becoming difficult for the city to develop. However the person who bought this swamp area tried to drain out the area and use it as a farm land.
Earlier meteorite showers also took place and one of the meteorites weighed about 1.5 tones and is suppose to be the largest meteorite on Earth.
Set in the midst of greenery the place has varied and unique flowers throughout the city. With this there are various sightseeing and historic places that make it a renowned tourist place among the travelers.
The climate of this place is pleasant enough to draw tourists throughout the year.
The population of this place comes to 14,750 according to 2006 census.
