The Newport Lakes Park is a quarry that seems to be almost flooded and is surrounded by bushes and lawns in the northern side of the area. This quarry produced some specific variety of stone that became popular and was used in many constructional sites in future. The quarry also sets a good example for students during industrial tours. The lawns are open to the public and are often visited by people.
