Natimuk is a small town situated in the north-western part of Melbourne and 25 km towards the west of Horsham. Mt. Arapiles is situated next to the small Natimuk town and it helps in attracting more tourists to the Natimuk region and gives it a cosmopolitan gloss. The Natimuk town has conventionally survived as a rustic area for the near by grain and sheep farming group. Recently, the town has branched out into tourism. Visitors from all over the world gather at Natimuk for rock climbing at Mt. Arapiles and also to pass the time at Grampians. The name ‘Natimuk’ was derived from an aboriginal term which means ‘little lake’. The inhabitants of Natimuk gather for Nati Frinj, their arts festival. The Ewes was the powerful Netball team of Natimuk. The Wimmera village in Natimuk often takes on a world wide focus as skilled rock climbers from all over the world come here to climb Mt. Arapiles.
