Albany is a port city; it is the sixth largest city in the great Southern region. It is at a distance of 400 km to the south of the state capital, Perth.
The population of the city is approximately 30,000. This is famed as the earliest settlement in Western Australia. It is a hub for import and export. It was the only deep water port in Western Australia.
The city experiences a Mediterranean climate which is cool and wet. It is placed on a natural inlet, the Princess Royal Harbor.
The city was established in 1826. Its imports basically include raw materials, and its exports include woodchips and grains.
