Busselton Jetty is the longest wooden jetty , i.e. pier located in southern hemisphere. It stretches nearly up to 2 Km towards the sea. Its construction started in the year 1853. As such, it got continually extended till 1960s when current length was reached; i.e. 1841 meters. This jetty got closed with respect to shipping in the year 1972. After its restoration, it’s now site of one of the underwater observatories and interpretive centers.
