Fremantle Prison located at The Terrace is the former prison of Australia. This site covers 15 acres and features a prison, perimeter walls, gatehouse, tunnels, cottages and prisoner art. This spot stopped serving as a prison in the year 1991 and is now known as a historic site. At present this is a pubic museum managed by government of Western Australia to which day and night tours are operated.
