Once upon a time, it was a ‘break-of-gauge’ between Eastern Goldfields Railway of Western Australian Government Railways (narrow gauge) and ‘Trans-Australian Railway’ towards ‘Eastern states of Australia’. Kalgoorlie lies on ‘Goldfields Highway’ and is connected to Perth through ‘Great Eastern Highway’.
