Kings Park is the most popular park located on the western edge of Perth. The park is also known as Perth Park and it covers 1,003-acres of land. It was opened to the public on 10th August 1895. The park contains Grassed Parkland, Botanical Gardens and natural Bushland on Mount Eliza. The Botanic Garden is currently known as the Western Australian Botanic Garden. It covers an 18 hectare site within the park and it was opened in the year 1965. It collects Western Australian flora which is about 2,000 in number.
